well, after 230 miles, it's decided to throw errors at me, first the emission control system warning lamp came on, the AA obd picked it up as P2470.

cleared it as he couldn't see anything wrong and put it down to "running in" and said to take it easy but it probably won't come on again.

well, it has, and now the glowplug light is flashing intermittantly as well, the manual says its "engine issue" so got the AA back on route to have another look and code find but does anyone have any idea's what might cause the exhaust system to throw a fault and then the engine to follow suit on a brand new car, or is it just (as i hope) the cpu sorting itself out as it's new?

yep,, think that's gonna be the next step, aa said as long as it's running smoothly and not holding back that it'll be ok to drive carefully and i'll get it to the nearest SEAT workshop on monday for them to do a proper check over it.

Take it back to seat and complain, running in shouldnt make engine lights come up.

No it should'nt but the CR lump is fitted with a DPF and there are alot of issue with these fitted throughout the VAG range and if the car isnt driven in a certain way once in a while it can cause issues with it. The DPF is also the owners responsability - they have to do a cleaining run with the car once in a while to burn all the carbon out of it and dealers will be reluctant to do anything with it without charging you.

However yours has very little mileage so it might just be a teething fault. Take it to the dealers and see what they say.

Could it be the DPF filter (i know it's only done 230 miles, but as i've been taking it easy to run it in peraps it's got clogged quickly?)
