mine were shocking as well, last few months had the rear shoes as well as new discs and pads at the front and its much better now

haha
i wish
Insurance would kill me :p
think i will stick to the 1.4 for a few months :p

Honestly the 1.4 isnt really that bad. It maybe not that quick and powerful but you can still have loads of fun driving it. And I will admit that as last wednesday on the way to and from college I had so much fun driving it. ;) It put a smile on my face!! :D

Get the handling sorted on it and honestly you will have fun. I think the fun is that you have to kick the arse out of it to get it going properly. Even when you are doing this you still get a decent mpg out of it!!

well crusier u have restored faith in the ibiza for me after reading the thread 'you know u have a MK2 ibiza when...'
everyone one that thread just seems to have negative comments on them lol

Cant wait to get my ibiza na, its at the garage atm and i was supposed to pick it up 2mora (wednesday) but some little s**ts have scratched both sides of the car with a key [:@] so i have gotta wait until thursday now so my mechanic can have a go at buffing and t-cutting the scratches out

i aint drove the car properly yet, and i was lookin forward to giving it a good thrashing tomorrow
got to wait an extra day now :(

roll on thursday lol

dont get ebc disks what ever you do.

Why do you reckon not to use EBC brakes, is there some reason that they are no good?
I have them on my car and can't say i found a big difference either, but i got them cheap of ebay at the time so were in and around the same price as motor factors ones. One thing i found about them is that the brake dust that comes off them is serious, and they are advertised to have less brake dust that other pads, my wheels used to go nearly black! Not too bad now that they are in a good while.
They also screeched for a good few 1000 miles after fitting too.

Although i will say that even though the brakes are a bit soft, on the one or two occasions i needed to stop in a hurry they did the job quite well.

Iv had 2 set, dimped and groved and groved the both warped within 500miles,and i know a number of other people that have had problems!

Hello all

Just thought i would update my thread with a few new pics
Pics are of the car after a good clean and with my new exhaust fitted
Exhaust may look a bit out of place to some ppl due to it sticking out of the car quite a bit but i like it

next up,id say colour code the door handles, get some euro or pressed plates on it and some chrome heater dials for inside.

woop woop another 5 door modder, na thats a rare thing on this site lol.
And o yes, the exhaust does growl lol

Yea i am defo gonna colour code the handles, but i dont really like the chrome heater dials, not 2 my taste lol

Next mods are colour coded door handles and wing mirrors and possibly a light window tints :)

Thanks for the comments

Keep em comin :p

Could always mesh those bulky black grills out, thats always a cheap mod. Looks good though :p

its looking very tidy and in good nick :)

modding wise, its a good idea to get all the cupra model parts as theyre fairly easy to come by and often reasonably cheap.

-chin spoiler from 8v or 16v,the 16v ones a little deeper
-Cupra headlights.these are much nicer looking than normal ibiza HL
-front fogs, though you can always get the fog panels and mesh the holes instead.
-colour code the 'grille' between where the fogs would sit

-boot spoiler (which you already have)
-bee sting aerial(which you already have)
-side skirts;im not sure if these fit any differently to a 5 door, but I doubt it
-a cupra flag, like the one in the link but without the '4'.These look nice placed on the boot or perhaps the grille

-reflective boot panel.these are quite hard to ge thold of,but basically the plastic panel between the lights is a red reflective one on the GTis which matches the rear lights and looks really nice.

Interior wise, you can look at cupra or 1.4 sport sets as both have decent buckets in,or you can use a set from a mk3 golf.
Mk3 steering wheels I believe are a direct fit,and the mk2 gti and cupras both have leather bound wheels.
There are many variations of ther heater controls in alloy, chrome look or brushed alloy, these can easily be found on ebay for cheap.

Would the headlights for say a 2000 Ibiza Cupra fit a 1999 Mk2 Ibiza 1.4 s?
