Hi Pete. Yep, they are the 17" alloys.

Whats the difference between just changing the springs & using coil-overs? With the coil-overs you can adjust the height?

Changing the springs can give you a drop of about 25-35mm, Coilovers offer you height adjustment from 20mm to 70mm. Another thing is the price, new springs will cost you around £150-200, coilovers on the other had will knock you back about £800. Plus any fitting charges unless your planning to do it yourself.

I understand now....thanks for clarifying.

I wont do it myself...are there any specialists that could supply & change the springs for me in the Northants/Hertfordshire area?

Thanks!

I ordered a set of Eibachs. Will have them fitted Friday week & will post new pics........

Out of interest, How much is it going to cost you get it all done K9kap?

£160 Eibach Sport Pro springs
£120 fitting

I paid £160 for the set of springs & took it to my local garage who fitted them for £120.
SEAT would not have anything to do with it saying the pictures on the website are for illustration purposes only.

Here is the result. Still not as good as the SEAT pics, but i'm hoping they will settle in time. Havent really thrown it around any corners yet, but it is noticeable stiffer, but still comfortable over bumps!

Recent 150 mile trip to the airport returned over 55mpg.....well chuffed!
Warranty invalidated as far as the new springs I fitted goes. Dont think much can go wrong with them tho???

Looks much much better! shouldn't have cost an extra ~£300 tho, ona brand new car.. shouldn't have accepted it.. told em to fix it.. if they didn't then you don't pay for it, so they might be more inclined to do the work etc for you so they get the sale... might not be worth the hassel tho!?

I know.....maybe I shudda made a big stink about it. But when all the other Ibiza's in the showroom are the same, I dont really have a case. I cant see SEAT agreeing to change all the Ibiza suspensions. Then I was the only one to complain.............generally, I'm quite pleased with the car & the dealer was on my side, but no go from head office.

Heres a final comparison pic. After 2 weeks the Eibachs seem to have settled more than the stock did after a month!

Damn, what a difference the new springs have made! Is that the 17" alloys you have also?

Is there much difference in the feel of the car now with the new springs in it?

As someone pointed out, its now at the height that it should have been at in the first place!

Difficult for me to assess the ride as I'm coming from a Brabus ForFour, which effectively felt like it had no suspension! The Sc feels like luxury!

I have to say, the Eibachs feel marginally stiffer than stock. I can still attack speed humps with no slowing down & the SC rides over them will little disruption. Try that in my Brabus & you would need to see a dentist! Where traffic conditions will allow, I have been throwing the SC around the corners & have not been able to promote any tyre squeal. Seems to handle whatever I throw at it so far.........I am pleasantly surprised.

Tyres are 17".
