New LCR Owner

Got my LCR at the start of last week and haven't been able to stop smiling since. It's a flash red 54 plate and looks stunning.

That was after its first polish when I got it home.

After moving from a 1.4 MK3 Ibiza, the performance is god damn awesome. I'm really impressed with 4th gear, it seems to pull well at most speeds, assuming the revs are 2.5k+. I have a few questions though...

1) Will Revo make much of a difference to MPG performance on daily drives? I'm getting about 28 on the mostly B road commute.
2) Can the 12V output in the boot be used to power and amp?
3) Why can't I get the car to move off the line very quickly...put your foot down and nothing happens for a second, I guess it just gets easier with time?
4) I get a rattling coming from the rear of the car when I go over bumps (and there are **** loads of them in West Yorkshire), not been able to pin it down yet. Anything common to tighten etc?

1.) Yes and no, it does help on economy but you'll give it some near enough most of the time so the economy will be around 20mpg unless driven sensibly which will get high 20's and low 30's.
2.) I was wondering this, can any one advise?
3.) If you can't move off the line quickly you will need to bring the revs up to where the turbo starts spooling, roughtly 3k's then dump the clutch/slip it in so you have boost on tap.
4.) Its common, I find its a combination of the parcel shelf and the rear trim panels in the boot.

question 2. no i wouldnt recommend it. the gauge of wire supply to it, is ****. u want to run a decent inline fuse and 8guage(depending on power requirements).

if u wanna do fast pull aways, like he said, keep the turbo spooling. and slip the clutch, but make sure esp is off. cant stand it.

28 MPG on a B road !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure that figure is going to drop a lot lower than that as you get used to the car and your right foot get heavier even before Revo.

1) if you drive at the same speeds, it will be no worse. however when you do put your foot down it will use more fuel as you are accelerating quicker, so sensible driving it wil be same, possibly better. if you boot it, it will most likely drink a bit more.
2)yes you can. however, it does have a maximum figure suggested on it and its not that high. So id not recommend it.
3) thats a conmination of: front wheel drive... possibly traction control (any lights flashing on the dash?) turbo needing to spool up, heavy car, poor application of foot leather...
4)try checking the rear seat retainers (the bit the back of the seats clip to... also the boot may rattle so check the rubber thingys that it shuts onto, similiar to what bonnets have. parcel shelf.. and if its very loud it can be the rear shock top mounts. oh and while you there check the exhaust.

Cheers for the replies. One more question...the car has a few dash scratches on the glove box and doors, just your standard wear and tear, but they are a tad annoying in the light. Can anything be done to make them less obvious? Is there a T-Cut equvalent for interior dash, that doesn't look ****?

Mine had the same, mainly on the door pockets and the side of the centre console, and deep ones on the seat plastic that you see when you open the doors. I used a shoe brush with a small amount of black polish, worked a treat. Not on the centre console though if this is scratched as this is a different material to the other harsh plastic.

Answer to question 4 is it’s the back seats. I had the same problem got it sorted at its first service. Apparently it’s a common problem with the back seats.
