New Leon Importing

I found a seat leon (new shape) which I am thinking of buying. But the dealer said it is an import like all the other leons. I wanted to know if it is true and if it would mean the car is any different to a normal one from the UK (if there is one).

Well what does he mean by import?

All the cars are made in spain then shipped over before registration in the UK

He said exactly that. Does it class as an import (like a grey import which loses its value) or not? I am kind of confused

sounds like the dealer is confusing himself, or selling grey imports.

Some Seat dealers did start taking orders for the 2.8 4motion Leon a few years back, I nearly ordered one myself until a friend of mine told me how unreliable his Golf was with the same setup. Point is that they were a legitimate Seat dealer selling personal imports.

Mork, I could be wrong but I think Grey Imports are from the Far East (needing SVA approval) whereas Personal Imports are generally from other EU countrys and can be registered without SVA testing.

A grey import is an unofficial import which comes into the country by a source other than the official distributor.
