New Member, considering a Seat Leon Cupra

Just a quick introduction — my name is Erik, I’m 41 and from Den Bosch, the Netherlands. I currently drive a 2018 Mini Cooper, but I’m planning to switch to a SEAT Leon Cupra 300 (or possibly a 290/280).

I’m active on a few Mini forums, and through those I got familiar with workshop manuals, how-to guides, and websites that provide background information on a potential new car based on the VIN number or license plate. I was wondering if something similar exists for SEATs as well?

Also, for Minis there are apps like BimmerCode and BimmerLink that allow you to read out and code certain features. Are there equivalent tools or apps for the Leon? If so, I’d love to hear about them!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome.

For vehicle specific data, you can chance your hand at searching the Internet or pay the brand to look at the manuals for your vehicle through ErWin:

As far as VWG diagnostic tools go, there is a choice of VCDS, OBDELEVEN, Carly and some other less known devices and software.

If you go for a later model you should also do research on SFD which was a new security system

@Deviate84 Hi fellow Cupra dutchman!

For VAG you need either VCDS (with a cable) or something like an Autel to get the most out of it. If you have questions, please ask them. I document a lot in my showroom thread (see link in my signature) and I just started posting how-to videos on my YouTube channel. Its quite easy to work on the MQB platform and a lot of information is known, as it also shares the platform with the Golf R/GTI for instance.
