hi all just a little about me. i work in a vag specilast mot garage in eastleigh caled independent garage services or IGS as we are known. ive just got my first seat more luck than any thing ive got a cupra r 210bhp got it nice and cheep at a £1000 with a engine fault and a bit tatty around the edges. but with use of the workshop and a good know how ime hoping to fix her up give her a remap lucky for me we do that aswell and have some fun maby a track day or two

Bad bit.......IGS attempted to rip my brother off big time, he went there to have a recon gearbox fitted to a MK4 Ibiza and came away with a very big bill (£2400). They had replaced his gearbox (and) steering rack (that they broke) and attempted to bill him for the rack too, even though he didn't consent to the rack being replaced. After a week or 2 of arguments and threats, including them confiscating his car until he paid in full I got involved and took his car back with force. Paid them for the gearbox and told them to sue my bro for the rack. They still have his key (I used the spare) so if you come across a MK4 Ibiza key in the office it belongs to my brother......

MY bro has never had a letter about them taking him to court so I guess they took the hit on the rack, quite right too because it was them that mullered it whilst removing the old gearbox.

Wow - that sounds like bad ****. To be honest that is one of the reasons I try to do a lot of the work on my cars myself, I too have had some republish experiences with so called experts working on my cars, they charge a fortune and tbh don,t give a sh-t, sorry but harsh but fair. Most trades people don't do jobs to a high standard, they just want too get in and get out again. Morale of the story is if you can do the work yourself always do it as you will do a lot better job!

you explained that's typical of there style of business of the other garage and a quick internet search will show that.
ive worked hear for 5 years and never heard off my boss doing that to any one id like to see a pic of the invoice as im sure it will show it was not us
