New owner. Teething troubles…

New owner. Of a 59 plate Altea Freetrack Tdi (badged as a XL4)

A. the mirrors do not seem to move when I try to adjust them
B. The cruise control doesn’t work - I’ve moved the switch on top of the stalk to ‘on’ but nothing.
C. What fuel economy should I be getting on a 70 mph motorway run?
I’m sure there will be other things discovered!

The cruise control switch historically has given issues on early Alteas and there is a thread on here somewhere about the fiddly but straightforward fix. The switches on my old and relatively recent Alteas look externally the same so may be worth a search.

the cruise control now appears to be working, although the warning light on the instrument panel does not illuminate

It required a clean. There were instructions of how to do it.... I didnt bother and gave up with that feature. You had to take the stalk apart. May be the bulb has gone.

faulty cruise control

I know there have been several treads about cruise control in the past, but. My 140 bhp TDI had to have a new stalk within the first year because the cruise control kept cutting out. 2 years plus later and out of warranty, it is doing it again. same symptoms, cuts out, will not respond...
