New rear discs + pads

My current rear discs are starting to make a noise when breaking. Pads are near down to metal.

I currently have ATE discs at the front when it had the TT conversion done on it but are there any good discs and pads on the market?

Could go for standard but was after grooved if possible.

Seeing as the rears don't do much work, leaving them as is will give them a harder life than upgrading will - so they will survive better! I just tend to replace discs with ATE ones from ECP and Textar pads, as used at factory from some where like GSF.

Would you know where to get the ATE discs as I have been searching on here and google but had no luck at all.

Was trying to find the ATE Performance discs to match the front but I don't think they make them.

No I don't think that ATE do many (if any) Power Discs for the rear - as I said you can get the ordinary ATE discs from ECP as they are the sole importers of ATE aftermarket parts into UK.

Oh, remember to buy or borrow a piston wind back tool to "zero" the pistons on the handbrake rods.

as rum4ho as the rear dont tend to do very much so just leave them as they are, no need to upgrade. When my rears need replacing (discs and pads) i bought a set of brembo disks and original pads, only reason i went with the brembo's for the back is the anti corrosion that the standard disks dont have.

I have just replaced my rear disks and pads. I thought that this was quite premature for them to need replacing? The car has only done 26k! Anybody have any ideas why they would have worn so quickly (i don't hammer the brakes all the time lol)

They tend to corrode badly around the outer edge. MOT advisory every time it goes in!

They were'nt corroded though, the car is just over 2 years old. However, they were badly grooved?

does seem odd, the MK4's always suffer from corrosion on the rears, dont know why yours would be grooved after only 26k

Knackered pads that have fallen apart will do it!

the grooving is very strange, one of my mates rear disks has done it on his leon mk2 i put it down to pads having a hard spot. as said above rear disk dont do much jsut buy cheap ones and some heat resistant spray paint and spary the outer edge and the centers before you fit them corrosion problem solved. I also know a guy that can CNC anything on the disc's for you check out mine (signature: my ride)

That's cheap! I don't mind spending the money on good gear but at that price, it would be rude not to buy them. lol.
