Just filled mine up with V-Power!!! 96.9 at my local shell, used Tesco 99 ron for the last 2 times and was losing roughly 50 miles per tank over optimax so lets see how this goes!!!

re vpower

I am loving using Vpower. My commute consists of mostly motorway miles and have noticed more poke in the midrange than before (using overpriced BPultimate) and it is more willing to rev plus it feels smoother.:D

My LCR was mapped AMD before I bught the car, is there anyway of telliing if it was mapped for 95 or 98??

I used to always run it on 98 and then changed to 95 and I found no loss in performance. I have even swapped back to 98 for a 1000 miles or 3/4 tanks and again didn't notice any difference in power.

I've noticed no difference between V-power and Tesco 99RON which I've used since I bought the car.

In fact after running a couple of tanks I feel Tesco's stuff is marginally better, and I'll be swapping back.

Once tried regular 95 and the car felt laggy, don't think I was imagining it

V-Power in my S8 last nigth for 1st time...
smooth as you like...

instant difference to the motors running and response.
96p/ltr

ickle ibiza will be getting some of this tonight :D

I have been using Optimax since I bought my LCR (July 03) and have now changed to using V Power and I don't notice any difference. I think what people are feeling is differences in power due to the weather/temperature - some days my car feels like it has lots more power than other days - it's down to the weather conditions. I guess it might make a difference to a re-mapped engine, but the standard map wants 98 RON anyway - given that VPower/Tescos 99 are going to be at best 1 RON more, I can't imagine the performance difference will be that noticable.

I will give it a try but doubt I will see any difference as the 99 tesco fuel works better than the old optimax anyway.... :)

I am on my second tank now and I think it's the mut's nuts!! Pure Rocket Fuel!! It is by no means Optimax rebranded as it's an octane higher. I was a pure Optimax fan beforehand but this stuff rocks!! Even though I have been thrashing around on it everywhere I have still managed to do 180 miles before the fuel tank needle registered half a tank. Computer estimates that I still have another 230 miles left, even though on past experience I still get anywhere between 325 and 380 miles to a tank.

Bring it on - she loves it!!
