Not half, who recons he has swopped front n back around at 10,000 miles
now all four are all equally worn?
Does anyone bother to do this ?

My Michys are nearly at 11k & id say i might get another 5000miles from the fronts
and i dont thrash them far from it.

Bridgestones oem on my mk1 fronts only did 14,500miles Rears 22,000

maybes its just the lack of torque from the 1.4 petrol that might save the front tyres a fair bit
but ? eitherway id stick with same rep if there doing that mileage.

BUT! when rep OEM with same types id put money on them never lasting as long..
I think the lack of weight helps, too...

Both the Assy3 and Conti. 6 are already released and available in some sizes..

Didn't think the Conti SC 6 is available in 18'' yet, and Michelin just released their PS4 this month...

Swapped front to back at 11k the Bridgestones on my 18s are definitely not for me! Noisy and not good in the damp or cold.

anybody tried the all-season Michelin Cross Climate yet?
have seen some really good reviews around - good grip in dry, exceptional in wet, quiet-running and work below 7Deg unlike summer tyres....

I say I didn't :) lol 90% of my milage is on motorways and half of that was at 50 due to good old road works. but I do not rag the car around and wheel spin it.

what HP & Torque does your 1.4 have sir id expect thats got a fair bit to do with it
Modern TDI's Torque n extra weight altho not that much extra will shorten tyre life even being a carefull driver.

I had 23k out of my front conti's and 50k out of my rears in my old corsa vxr but that involved alot of motorway miles

put the Mich Cross Climates on my wife's saab 9-5 Monday.
Very impressed so far!
Very quiet, great grip and traction, seems better/smoother ride over bumpy potholed roads too.
Like them....

Hi I'm looking for new tyres also and fancy Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on 225/45/17's.

Has Anyone fitted these?

Thanks

I had goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 2 on my mk2 FR170,roadholding,noise and handling in the wet was excellent and also they have great rim edge protection which is something you should consider if you have low profile tyres.

Hi thanks for the reply, I've decided that I'm going to give these ago. Cheers

So after doing around 30K my two front tyres need replacing.

But the question is do I stick with the stock conti contact sport 5's or are there any better cheaper alternatives ?

I am not wanting to put cheap rubbish Tyres on but if i can not spend lots and save bit that would be great.

So what have you replaced your tyres with ?

My car is the 1.4 fr with the 18inch alloys :)

Ps I do a lot of motor way miles but do like to have a bit of fun in it :)
Hi Guys I have replaced my tyres fronts twice from originals first set from the miles I do second because of nails etc changed to Michelin sport cup 3 fantastic tyres changed the handling would recommend them
from my personal experience.
Leon mk3 fr 150 diesel all the toys

My 1.8 FR is on Michelin Pilot Primacy. Got 30k miles out of the set I had on a previous A3 Sportback (swapping front to rear annually). Bit noisy and rubbish on snow but otherwise ok.

Current set must be even better as they appear to regenerate. Just got online health check from dealer after service and fronts are back up to 7mm (6mm on previous report from last September when I had a tail light swap)!!
