Basically my daily just gave up, and my mate has a vario none runner doing nothing , so i said i would have it.

Car: 2001 1.6 seat cordoba VARIO alm

Fault: Will not start , there is spark but no fuel. The fuel pump doesnt run and the injectors are not pulsing.

I have changed the relay no.167, no joy

The fuse no.7 serves the pump and injectors and that is is ok.

If i bridge out the relay ,the fuel pump runs and there is plenty of rail pressure.

. i even pulled the injectors, left them conectted to the fuel rail, out and cranked the engine to visually check they were not injecting.

Is there an inertia cut off switch on this car, would this kill the power to the fuel sytem and give me the symptoms i am getting.

i cant find it. Just want to eliminate this.

what does this relay do, would it cause my problem also.

i have ordered a relay no.405 which is identified as fuel cut-off control module. hopefully thiss will sort the problem.

my vario had EXACTLY the same problem when i bought it.

2001 alm

it start off intermittent then turnd perminent.

i believe you need new clocks/speedo cluster. pain in the arse to get changed. my seat dealer couldnt do it on the cupra :(

if i remember correctly it will start if you put a permenent live to the fuel pump. but you cant run like than

HoocH

i have already tried the permanent to the fuel pump, the pump runs and there is rail pressure but it wont run, as the injctors are not pulsing

How do the clocks affect the fuel system?is this immob related,

Thanks for the post! Off to france now so i wont be dong any work on it for a short time. Really want to sort it, the thing is too good to scrap, and i want to prove my mate wrong who said, IT CANT BE DONE!

its todo with immobiliser yes.....thinking about it, mine didnt run with permenant fuel pump live. but i did try it

mine started off by starting then cutting out after 5 secs but no immobiliser light. but yes its immobiliser related. i replaced every fuse.

there is one way to garentee a fix....which is what i done. 20vt it :D

ok thanks, but i have scanned it with vag com, shows no faults, gonna have a propper go this weekend.

ps, why the 20vt sort it, does it use a different dash or stand alone management.

so if you have replaced the dash/clocks have you got a good vario set knocking about? Will it be like vw and need the skc code to programme it if the clocks do turn out to be at fault.

ps mine doesnt run at all never mid the 5 sec then cut out thing . I had read that fault on the auto data common faults page.
