just thought the id let others know about my windscreen on my xl. t the bottom of the screen outside there is a thin rubber seal which runs the length and about 4inches up each side, whilst cleaning my car i noticed a lot of muck caught up around the wiper arm bottoms whilst doing this i saw a gap beetween the seal and the windscreen at the driver side corner bottom i went to my local dealer and they had a look and its a common fault but most people dont notice untill the screen goes milky and the warranty has run out:cartman: its worth having a look at yours and only takes a minute!!! you need to lean over the wing and have a good luck at the screen as its not seen by just looking full on at the screen, im lucky as mines still in warranty so it wont cost me anything:clap: i wouldnt like to think your warranty is up soon and you hadnt checked!!!!

There is plenty of these reports on the forums, this is a known issue with all MK2 Leons, Altea, and New Toledos. the problem is the water does not drain properly from the bottom of the windscreen and delamination or Water Ingress starts. There is no other manufacturer of these windscreens other than Pilkington as yet.

hi
the problem with mine is that the rubber strip seal has come away from the screen,
not water ingress yet however given time and left then it will do!!!! the warranty claim is replacing the whole screen just in case water had got in and as the screen has to come tou ot fit the seal then it was easier to fit new.
