hello everyone! new on here, just bought a mk3 ibiza 1.6 sport. 68k, cupra bodykit, cupra alloys and a powerflow exhaust.

I came from a mk2 golf gti so expecting the ibiza to be a little slower but what can I do to gain a little more bhp? or any other sensible mods to do to it? already got the exhaust so not bothered about that, may put cupra brakes on it when they're ready to be changed but seems a little unnecessary at the moment as brakes are good.

cheers!

you'll struggle to get any power out of it mate, you would of been best going straight to a cupra. sorry to say it mate, but im not going to lie to you, i've got a sport myself. only really cosmetic mods you can do to the 1.6's im afraid :(

Get a decent induction/filter set up on there. If your handy could try port and polishing it, maybe new cams, but only really worth it if you can do it yourself. I think a full exhaust with de-cat would give a good gain too (and would pop like mad :D , mine pops a fair bit with only a cat back!).

thats pretty much what I thought, it's fairly nippy anyway, not too bad. the powerflow backbox sounds good. it's got gmax shocks and springs so they're alright, might get a strut brace on the front as well just to stiffen it up. are induction kits any good? as when I had my mk2 everyone recommended a panel filter as opposed to an induction kit.

I would've quite happily gone for a cupra but theres no way they would have insured me :) except for stupid amounts of money anyway!
