I'm off tomorrow to take a test drive on a 2005 tdi 150bhp Leon from a garage in Glasgow.
It's done 6k miles is there anything I should be looking for in particular.

Currently driving a Fabia Vrs that has been great but EML keeps coming on so it's going back to Arnold Clark and the finance getting cleared. So I've decided to look at these Leons as I've always loved the look of them.

Thanks

I bought one two weeks ago. Love it I was told to check carpets etc for water getting in, make sure it has history. Drive it and enjoy .

Thanks for that.

The Fabia suffers from the same thing at the rear doors. Mines was fixed under the warranty.
I'll be asking about service history too. What is the waterpump and timing belt intervals on them.
It's done 66k not 6k as my phone had changed it too. Lol

Thanks supersticky.

I've always liked them and was thinking of the 20 Turbo a few years ago. But the fuel consumption and power of the diesels make them hard to turn down.

I've loved the Fabia for the 3 months I've had it bit the person before me had been tampering about with the engine so it's going back and the finance is getting cleared.

Buzzing about going to see this one today.

Yes mate seriously good cars, if your a lover and not a fighter and treat it like a female ;-) then you'll be in love for a long time! Had mine for 3 months now and just keep smiling :) I seriously think they are very very good looking cars, smart, clean, fast, very good mpg and solid :) GO GET IT MATE !!

with a few mods the pd150 is an awesome engine and at 66k i would almost straight away get it remapped so long as the intercooler hoses are in decent condition

What sort of average have you been getting since you've had yours and is it standard.

Well when I bought it it was returning avg 49.7 mpg then filled it with v power derv and got 53.2 mpg, atm I'm having a little trouble as I put morrisons derv in and getting 33.8 mpg, but this morning found another Shell v power garage and slammed 60 notes in so fingers crossed I'll be getting sweet mpg again soon :). Make sure you give us feedback on your drive later! :)

A remap is something I would have been doing almost straight away.

That was first on the list as well as mufflerectomy.

What power does it goto with a stage 1 remap and what sort of power can the standard clutch take before you get problems.

That's brilliant. Didn't realise that supermarket fuel made that much difference though.
My Fabia is averaging about 43 just now but it's mostly start stop short journeys and having fun with it.

So to get more than that from the Leon would be amazing.

ive got a pd130 its got a complete straight through no cat or backbox its sounds insane and given me fair bit of power my clutch is slipping though but once thats done im gonna get it mapped and that will take my to about 170 possibly 180 depending on how harsh the map is (wanna be getting a pd150 turbo)

Yep as I've read many times on here after mapping the clutch has a tantrum ( depending on mileage ) so as mine is on 85ooo I'm scared on doing it! :-:)-( lol still don't stop me thinking about it every flipping day! I wouldn't ever go above 180bhp unless your willing to spend many penny's on uprated clutch .

Hey guys.. i've recently bought an 05 leon tdi (pd150). I bought it cheap because the eml light was on, turned out to be the egr so i removed the whole lot including the cooler and blanked it off. Thats as far as ive got with it so far, just had a cupra r bumper resprayed so fitting that next weekend.

Ive got a quote for a stage 1 remap and egr delete, considering removing the backbox with a straight pipe first... anyway, the only thing that worries me a bit is the clutch slipping... so do i save for a new standard clutch or an uprated one? The guys who are remapping it for me say i'd be looking at 190ish bhp and around 300lb of torque. Ive had it on a dyno with the egr removed and its at 151bhp at the mo.

Oh and wul3er, Ive had the car about 4 months now and I love it. I bought it on 70k with Full Seat service history, got the cambelt and a full service done straight away for peace of mind and it been great since. The only issue ive got the moment is water in the n/s of the boot, which im looking into. Such a nice drive though, although quite firm ride to other cars ive owned.
