Thanks for all the replys guys.
Here's an update as promised.
Went to that garage to test drive the car which I had phoned about on Friday and it was agreed I could take it out today and put a deposit down if I liked it.
Firstly the car was blocked in tight with about 16 cars in the way of moving it an inch.
So I decided just to look over it first. The alloys which I wasn't to keen on anyway were in a hell of a mess from salt with bubbling. The brakes looked very rusty and the car hadn't been washed or polished for a while.
So got the keys and went inside and again it hadn't seen a hoover or any cleaning products for some time. There was a big empty square in the glove box were I suspect a c changer might be housed.
The car had 66k on it so I asked about what service history it had to be told the guy who traded it in hasn't handed it in yet and they couldn't say if the waterpump had been done or not.
In the end I had to walk away a bit gutted as there aren't many for sale here.
Found one that's 4 hours drive away (near Leeds) so I've called about this one and im going to put a deposit down on it because it looks amazing in the pics and the guy says it had a FULL service history with receipts and a receipt for the timing and waterpump just been done. So fingers crossed it'll be as described and after I get things sorted with the Fabia I can go my road trip and see the new one and possibly drive her back home again.
