hi guys,

i currently drive a 106 Gti with a few mods that's capable of 14.8 1/4 mile, i'm looking to get a mk3 ibiza cupra but i have a few questions.

firstly i don't think it will be quick enough for me in standard form so i was wondering can the KS04 turbo be fitted easily enough? is it a straight swap with the KS03? and if i did this, combined it with a decent exhaust and filter setup then got a re-map.. a) what sort of power should i expect b) what sort of 1/4 mile will this setup give? with a good driver c) how much will those mods cost?

thanks in advance

nick.

k03 to k04 isnt just a straight swap... although im pretty sure you can get kits to do it.
you definatly can on leon, so same probably applies to an ibiza.

i think a k03 to k03s would be. that would give around 225 with a good exhaust and remap. a popular mod.

K04, would if you did that give you about 265-270.

however, the ibiza really suffers badly from poor intercooling and if you did the k03s or k04, or in fact any remapping you would need to get a FMIC on it.
plenty of threads on here about that.

thanks for the reply mate. so with full de-cat exhaust and enclosed filter etc and a re-map will it be around the 220bhp mark?

about the same as the PUG 106, what you've got to remember is the Ibiza cupra is a heavier car than the pug but its a much more comfortable car to be in spec and power wise

At a guess/estimate:

Remap only - 210bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter - 220bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter/fmic/dp - 225bhp and being able to pull for longer

Remap/exhaust/filter/fmic/dp/KO3s - 240/250bhp :p

Don't wanna start a debate but it's something like that.

Revo remap will get you 210bhp for £450 ish.

Exhaust & Filter ~ £600 + £150

FMIC & DP ~ £700 + £350

KO3s ~ £500/£600 + £200+ (fitting)

Hope this helps you out.

Alpha - that's perfect. thanks for taking the time to do that. i was thinking it would be fairly similar to the pug, but that's what i want, more comfort and better spec, i know it's more solid than the pug aswell with no rattles. my pug is low 6's to 60mph but runs out of puff about 100mph. a beeza should be quicker overall then.

I was going to get a 106 Rallye and drop a 16v in it and see if I could get 140bhp with cams etc. decided nothing will beat a turbo and the SEAT doesn't have as many rattles/gremlings in the dash & it has AC/leather etc.

My 306 was a terrible for electrics. [:@]

You'll find loads of great advise from people and the threads so put your feet up and make yourself at home ;)

my 106 is just a good one i think :) did a 15.0 @ 91mph when it was bog standard at santa pod. now it has a BMC enclosed filter, scorpion exhaust, 1.1 gearbox and its completely stripped and now needs another gear to do the 1/4 cus of the shorter box! hence only 14.8.

those 1/4 mile times are pretty impressive. whats the mpg like at 200bhp + though? lol

any one who thinks they have or can have 220 bhp out of a remapped k03 is dreaming not even with the best remap /exhaust /filter are you going to see those figures youd be lucky to get over 210bhp and that would be pushing it

Wish I never answered his question now :(

Can somebody 'who knows' what they are talking about please fill in the gaps for 'nick s':

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power

Remap only - ???bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv - ???bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv/fmic/dp - ???bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv/fmic/dp/KO3s - ???bhp

Don't wanna start a debate but it's something like that.

Price

Remap will get you ???bhp for £??? ish.

Exhaust, Filter and dv ~ £??? , £??? + £??

FMIC & DP ~ £??? + £???

KO3s ~ £??? + £???+ (fitting)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sure nick will appreciate the advise ;)

Remap only - 190-195bhp
on the K03 the torque gains are alot more than bhp. you should get 235-240 lbft.

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv - 190 - 199bhp

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv/fmic/dp - 205-210bhp (although jabba, custome code or revo stage 2 may get more)

Remap/exhaust/filter/dv/fmic/dp/KO3s - 222-235bhp
the K03s doesnt run out of puff as early as the K03 so while they toque figures may be similair the K03s can pull further up the rev range and get bit more power.

As you can see nick ... there is no real answer :(

beezaboy said he has these mods (Remap/exhaust/filter/dv/fmic/dp/KO3s) and gets 240bhp and Mark had 250bhp at stealth last year

Phill W on the other hand has 209.1bhp and 282lbs/ft of Torque from Dynatwist, Supersprint Race Cat Back System, Forge 007P, Revo & Forge FMIC. And he says 240bhp will be gained with KO3s

So your guess is as good as mine :p

But I think a remap should get you well over 200 either way and massive amounts of torque. :funk: ... I have a KO3s ready for fitting [B)]
