Newbie Needs Advice

Hi, I'm looking for advice on a few little points..
#1 my son has just been given a 56,000mile 2009 1.6 Sport Ibiza, which we have been told is an early Mk4 6j on the change over point. Is this correct ?

#2, he would like to change the built in factory fit head unit for a Double Din, Sat Nav unit, or another unit from another Seat, can anyone suggest anything that would be a good swap, within a £400 maximum budget (new or reconditioned factory fit)

Has anyone sourced a decent quality front centre armrest ( black fabric)... If so what do people recommend, and do armrests out of another VAG product fit ? Thinking of sourcing from a breaker's.

1) 6j models were introduced in mid 2008.
2) an android aftermarket head unit would be an option. There is not anything stock that will fit from vw group cars (rcd and rns dont fit the ibiza dashboard. )
You can get one from aliexpress or similar sites. They look like stock, fit nicely and have a lot of functions. Dont spend a lot. £200 should be more than enough
3) not sure, but polo 6r or golf mk4 armrests look exactly the same. I dont know if the mounting bracket is the same.

Are the Chinese android units any good ? If so is there a stand out brand that is better than others ? I think my son fancied one from Pioneer or Sony,but we have also been told that there's not enough clearance at the rear of some units behind the dash face ? (most of his mates seem to be fiesta / Corsa driving ice experts) is this actually an issue .as I thought all double din units would be a fairly standard size,especially when it comes to the fascia of the unit ,
He was given the Car by his Mum ( who was going to trade it in but was offered (£600) ,and it's absolutely pristine Emocion Red, inside and out,F.S.H.(Seat) and about an inch thick in polish,and He basically doesn't want it chavy (Like his mates Corsa).

There is no specific brand. Try to get one with 8 core cpu, they are way faster than the older models. According to most reviews, they have decent quality. You can find many videos on youtube regarding
installation.

On android you can install any launcher you like. “Agama car launcher” is a nice one. The design is very similar to the 6p ibiza and 5f leon

Any generic 2din head-unit should fit fine if you prefer that instead. A fascia and rear plate is required to make it fit.

I have an android head unit fitted, I think it is really good, I run it with a AGAMA launcher.

I had an after market arm rest and I thought it was garbage. I fitted a OEM arm rest, month to existing holes in the floor and is solid.
