Hello all,

I'm a newbie here! Just waiting for my factory order of a Seat Ibiza 1.2 TSI 90PS FR Technology in Technic Grey! Not coping very well with waiting :(

I have added a few extras, just because....

Ambient Lighting
Bi-xenon Headlights ect...
Climate Control
Rear Parking Sensors
Seat Drive Profile

The one thing I really can't wait for is the lights (I drive in the dark most of the time) are they any good? I'm coming from a old 1.0ltr Yaris! So in my eyes a 100% upgrade!

There's not much on this forum about the 1.2 TSI FR, but for £35 a month to insure and I'm 24 years old (only been driving 2 years) can't really go wrong, is there much difference between the 1.2 and the 1.4?

:)

So, is your car still waiting to go into build at the factory?

If so your dealer or SEAT should update you when it is leaving the factory, then your dealer should be able to tell you which car transporter ship it is loaded into - then you can use the "marine movements" website to track the progress of that ship! All part of the fun?

I bought my wife a Polo 1.2TSI 110 SEL in August 2015 and it was a factory order, but as it was a 5 door Polo, it was built in South Africa (!), I spent too long tracking car transporter ships from there to Northern Europe, but unfortunately missed "my" one as I had not been given its name, it went through the Suez canal and I was expecting it to come round the Cape of Good Hope and then end up in Santander - so, I eventually visited the VW dealer, got the ship's name, and by the time I got back home and onto the marine movements website, it was leaving Belgium and heading for Northern Germany where they tend to muster all UK etc bound cars and load them into smaller local transporter ships - very very disappointed!!

Edit:- that car comes with LED lights as standard, I've got HIDs on my car and my previous car - and yes, they are worth it. 1.2TSI is very lively though I'm confused as to why it is still being build as I was warned back in April 2015 when we ordered my wife's new Polo, that we might have just missed being able to specify a 1.2TSI 110, they very meant to be changing to 3 cylinder 1.0TSI 110 for build cost reasons and to drop emissions, but I'm happy with the tried and tested 1.2TSI.

Yeah I'm waiting for it to be built! Should be ready for March the guy said, well I was having doubts about the 1.2 over the 1.4 but I drove the 1.2 for the test drive and it was quick so I'm hope it's enough!

The reason why I joined this forum is i can't wait, and it's driving me crazy! I will be tracking the car as soon as I know it's on it's way!

They didn't say any of the models/versions had been stopped apart from the 3drs as the only model to have 3 door will be the Cupra from now on. I think most people go for 5 doors these day's anyway? It was only roughly £500 more.

I think it's 108bhp, is that good? It's the 90PS one.

There's a 90ps (5 speed) and a 110ps (6 speed)

It depends how I drive, if I'm sensible then around 40-45mpg but if not it can go as low as 30

Have a look here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=434960

You will find it a big step up from Yaris halogens to Ibiza Bi-Xenons. Factory level is a bit low, but you can fix the distance it shines easily with a big screwdriver, within reason... in this weather (eg winter) it's not uncommon for the headlights inside to be a bit condensed.

Unfortunately I was spoilt as previously I had Leon with LED headlights (and the high-beams were wow!), so I didn't find the Bi-Xenons that special. However they do seem marginally brighter (on dipped). On high beams no chance, Leon LED had 6 'extra' lights come on for that, plus it raised the dipped beams up. Also spoiled that I had 150 PS before, and now 'only' 110 PS.

I've got the 1.0 EcoTSI DSG..lowest average mpg I've seen is about 30mpg (very heavy traffic) to about 55mpg (extra urban 50mph speed limit A roads).
Usual London city driving on weekend 40-45 mpg is achievable.

Didn't spec Seat Sound System?

Nope because I heard the normal one is good enough so I didn't bother, was tempted to upgrade the seats & wheels (17 inch) but didn't in the end, cheers for the link!

Yeah I'm looking forward to the upgrade, my dealer contacted me today! Car is on target for March! :D

I can't wait to drive it!

I can't wait to drive it!

The week before it arrives is the most painful, as you will be able (usually) track the ship it comes on...from Barcelona! and the ships travel oh so slowly (15 knots)! And then it bypasses England to stop in Emden (Germany) first...before coming back :censored:

Good spec for a 1.2 TSI FR 90PS. I have the exact same car in FR Tech Trim. Also Technic Grey would have been my back up colour to go for too. But went for Alor Blue. Didn't go for any extra specs, but was nearly keen on the Bi xenons. But I can live without them, the DRLs are good enough for me.

16 weeks is the normal delivery time for it too arrive. Mine was unregistered on the forecourt, so picked it up straight away. The sound system is good for the Ibiza. The dealerships told me the seat sound system doesn't make much of a difference in sound quality.

MpG wise you'd get 42-48 on Motorways. 70-80mph And 37-40 with town driving. Though with a black box on you'd drive sensibly.

My friend who knows his cars thought it was a 1.8 engine...it's only 1.0....but 110PS (realistically probably 115-120 PS (which is what non-Turbo 1.6-1.8 develop), Seat are very good at not bothering to de-tune VAG's 115PS units to 110PS). I read somewhere that 110PS is the minimum it must develop on the most basic (crap) fuel avalaible. If they get more than the base quoted power, they don't bother detuning it....of course if you put good fuel, you may get some gains...I had Shell Vpower in it when my friend commented. A bit pricey @ 1.30/pl, but will downgrade next fuel up to Momentum 99 :) 1.23/pl

In fact, I think in Brazil, when they put the same 1.0 TSI (can't remember if it was the 90/95/110/115 PS variant) into the Up, put on dyno...surprise! 134PS stock. Didn't say which fuel they used though, maybe 97-99RON.

So yes...you will probably find it punches above it weight, but what car did you have prior? I had a 150PS engine prior, so...didn't wow me, but it still goes...and goes well...
