newbie with LCR: recommend a DV that makes a swoosh noise?

hi,

i take delivery of my flash red Leon cupra r on saturday and was wondering if anyone on here knew of a dump valve i can fit that makes the swoosh noise without damaging the engine ?

HI first post,

I am accepting delivery of my Flash red 04 plate LCR on Saturday and was wondering if there was anyone on here with a dump valve that makes a loudish swoosh but is not damaging to the engine nor do i need to turn up the boost to increase volume thanks

With you been new im hoping the guys are gonna be easy on you, There is a function called search top of the page. If you want more of a patsssst the prob the forge split r which i have ill admit before anyone else does there a pain to set up but with the and an induction kit or even people find smoothing the airbox an a new panel filter you get more noise from it. Alot of ppl play it safe with the 007 from forge but all down to personal taste

i was hoping i didnt have to change too much to be honest as the LCR emptying my pockets enough but will just do a few things over time, how much would an open cone filter be?

£45 ish for a green cotton one. I got one direct from green cotton for about that; and with the standard dv was loud, slightly louder still with forge 007p (£83). With the green cotton filter you will need to make up your own bracket to hold the end of it stable. I used a bent piece of small aluminium strip.

GFB 50/50 gives of a loud woosh if that is what you want, i do too, as i have one

I also have no error codes and the ECU light doesn't flash at me either.

i had a 007p with enclosed induction kit absolute s#!te brought the open cone filter that sits right down behind the bumper and its absolutely fantastic thats my reccomendation mate

he has got an lcr mate, no room in the bumper for a cone because of the intercoolers just stick an open cone in the space the airbox leaves and get some decent ducting to it from behind the headlight.

If you fit a carbonio cold air induction kit with a Forge Split R DV you will get as loud a DV noise as you can get with the 1.8T engine.

man i gotta say you people are a lot kinder to newbies asking the same question for the millionth time than in the mk3 section...

as for the splitR i also have it and yes it takes more time to set up but will give a much nicer sound than the 007 will...so you have to weigh the time spent to set it up against the sound you will get for it.

If you're lazy get the 007, if you think that modding the car is a hobby and are willing to put some time into it get the splitr....

as for open cones don't get the k&n because its silly money for the same product you get at your local car shop...the universal ones.

Forge Split-R with a smoothed and drilled airbox on mine and it sound good although there is a bit more lag when it's in atmos.

Where are you from there might be someonre near you with a setup for you to hear

Got a 007p on mine with a pipercross panel filter and i cant even hear it ! occasionally it will make a tsssss sound but not very often . Could be down to a boost leak !

You need to mod the airbox and feed pipe mate then you should hear it
