Hello RC Cupra here, i joined a couple of weeks ago i havent been quite sure what to say, I have recently purcahased a leon cupra 180 bhp on a 54 plate, it started off so well but now ive discovered a few things that need to be fixed & hopefully should get sorted very soon, once ive got my quote back from the garage, i will keep you posted.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum, no need to be shy, lol. As above whats up with it? Someone here will almost certainly be able to help you out whatever's wrong.

Hello,
Thanks, the belt & water pump need replacing, which i did look into before i bought the
car & the bloke sed that is was done but the garage sed they could see the teeth,
Which is very bad, plus my power steering started making a squealin sound & its a broken switch which is leaking.

Ah right, looks like you got it to the garage just in time then, snapped timing belt would of been very expensive. At least once you get it back you can enjoy it without worrying about that failing. :)

Hi there RC Cupra first of all welcome.

As said there are some very knowledgeable people on this forum. So there will all ways be someone to answer a question.

I see you are waiting for a quote to come back, may I just suggest that you try Amd in thurrock. I see you are from Hertfordshire depending on where abouts that's not to far away. And there prices for belt changes are very reasonable. Would be worth a call just to get a price.

Thank you all for your help, i should be gettin a quote tomorrow, so i will check the
Prices with amd thurrock, its about an hour away from where i am.

Yeah it'd be worth the drive as they have a very good reputation with these cars. They'll be able to check that everythings running as it should be for you as well.

That being said though it depends on just how bad the condition of your timing belt is....Wouldn't want it snapping on the way over there.

Welcome

As said i wouldnt risk an hours drive with cambelt like that it'll end up costing you a top end rebuild or an engine
