Nicking the FR map ?

I now realise the aftermarket tuners protect their maps to stop them being copied onto other vehicles but this is surely not the case with the manufacturer.

Is it feasible to copy the FR map across to the 140TDi ? it should make a very cheap way of geting some extra horses.

I dont think its as simple as that due to different ecu codes and they may cause conflict.

I think the engine is different as well.... but I'll let others explain what this difference is.

A PD140 can be remapped to perform similar to the PD170 quite easily, but as Tell said there are definite engine differences like the ECU and fuel delivery etc

Cannot be done.

The FR has a different engine with many different changes to the 140PD, for a start the injectors are Piezzo and inject fuel many more times than the 140 creating a better air/fuel mix, then there is the DPF which the ECU has to monitor and control. The list could go on but there is no way the map can get transfered from one to another.
