I know this thread is old, but came across it while searching for new tyres and I have to say I love it!!! So funny reading it. Legal action... What are these people on!!! As for the tyres, still haven't found the answers I'm after, so will continue looking.

That's where your wrong... I had a 1994 Peugeot 306 before the Leon (that I bought this time last year) and before that an 1986 Ford fiesta mk2.
both were a constant nightmare, hence I went for a car that had a good reputation and value for money leading me to believe it would at least last a little while before major repair bills came in!

haha i had two corsa redtops which only got to leave the driveway a few times a month due to the fact they were gash. had them for 2years spent around 8k. when i had enough i bough my lc for 5k and over the 31/2 years ownership its cost me around 200 quid on repairs. Cant moan at that. [B)]

Junglist Matty - Are you the same junglist matty on pug306.net if so, Hi im Ash 306 off there :p

Aye, I used to check that forum, not looked at it for a good while now though... Had a couple of 306's first was a MK1 1.9XRD and second was the mk2 D-Turbo.

As for the LCR, it's coming up to that time of year again, I've got it booked in for an MOT & Service on Monday so will have to see how it gets on this time round!

You originally mentioned that a rear wiper blade was needed -- rubbish, it's not even part of the MOT. Front wipers, yes, but not rear.

Mike

This may not be totally correct. I was told that although a part is not required by law. If it is there it then becomes valid and must be in correct working order.

Ie you could take it off and it would not fail. But if it's broken it can be failed.

I sympathise with those having bad experience with garages. A friend has always maintained my car and only gone to garage for mot.

Now I have moved away its very difficult to trust a garage.
