evening all,

over the past month i have maybe 4 times received the 3 beeps and the coolant light flashing, this evening i went to go for a drive and put my light on, the dash lit up and then went black, have checked all fuses and nothing, i understand it could be a faulty dashpod from reading something on here a long time ago and you have to re-solder something on the back?

i swear there was a guide on how to fix it but cant find it anywhere,

can anyone help?

thanks

this all happened whilst changin my stereo, also have no lights on the climate control panel, would that be right?

You haven't accidentally turned the dimmer switch right down have you??? Check whether you have lighting on electric window switchs or anything else that may light up with the lights on.

nope not hit the dimmer switch. and the interior light works, not checked the window switches. but i know the centre console isnt lighting up.

have checked fuses at the side, have checked under the engine but wouldnt know whether there is one that even controls anything like that.

plus it has beeped at the me several times today with the coolant light flashing and there is plenty of coolant

Have you had the dash panel out at all, might be related to the common 130 TDI Sport, 6 dial issue, where the Coms connector has dry jointed pins??

nope havent touched it mate.

thinking it might be the usual 6 dial issue, dont know if its really something i can fix myself tho

ok guys just checked and have no lights on the window buttons, dash (except the lights on symbol) and the climate control screen, everything else works

any ideas?

pleeeaaaasssseeee

There is a thread somewhere on how to modify the wiring to the switch in order to get the dash lights on even during the day without the headlights or side lights on, that may be of help. The dash lights up when the switch is in a certain position, worth finding out which wires are used.

anyone got any more ideas on this? i cant see it being the dash problem as all the normal lights come on when the ignition is on and then go out like normal, its just the illumination on the dash and window switches, there must be a separate relay for this?
