hi every1

I have a golf GT tdi 1.9.

When i go to start it i wait for my glow plug light to go out and then when i go to start the car, it takes about 5 -8 secs of cranking before it actully starts up? This happens whether the car is hot or cold (a bit worse when it is cold)

The local garage looked at it and said that NO POWER was getting to the leads to power the glow plugs? and maybe my car was just starting off the compression???

This is driving me nuts so can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advanced!

I presume you had the glowplugs themselves checked? I had a similar problem to yours when i had my mk3 golf diesel. Turned out the glowplugs were knackered. I had to spray 'coldstart' in the air intake to get it started til i could fix it.

first step would be to check the fuses , should be in the handbook , where to look and fuse number , if not relays next , then it looks like professional advice needed ,
