I have an Altea TDi Sport and noticed when being a passenger in it that the passenger side window is really noise from the wind. I am not sure if its the window seal or the door mirror. Anyone had this problem and what did you do to fix it?
Lots of previous posts on wind noise. There is a seal kit for the mirrors for earlier Alteas (should be on later ones) - 55 reg could be missing the seals.
It could also be the rubber seal at the top of the window. I have the same wind noise, and i found out it was the seal when the car wash kindly let me know about it
Have assumed the kit must already be fitted on an 06 model so think it is something else. What speed does this start at - I believe the problem the kit was for started as low as about 40mph - mine doesn't kick in until later - around 60. Any ideas?
Not much in the kit - few bits of precut foam and costs about £1 - need the part number from post above and they will probably have to order it - fits easily (assuming some mechanical sympathy) if you follow instructions posted on forum in earlier threads.
Is it possible to either a) see if it is fitted b) see if this is what is causing the problem by using masking tape over a gap or something? If so where?
Thanks, I had read the thread, but was after newer info as it was so old, in particular have the mirrors been modified since the earlier problem or would it still affect an 06. Didn't know about the pics, which helps me see where to try tapeing up to see if it improves.
