non vag screenwash problem

My 05 Cupra has heated jets too. But, it the actual black plastic fan part thats heated. And no matter how stron you mix it, it freezes in the pipes
i had a mk4 golf last year and my washers packed up but still made the noise, then it stopped as it burned itself out so needed replacing, my local v-dub garage said it was a common fault when you use TOO MUCH screen wash and it blocks them, he recons he has had to replace the motor on his wifes golf several times as she doesnt let him fill it up lol
dunno mate but until you know what the problem is i wudnt be attempting to squirt it, unless you wanna fork out the £80 to get a new pump lol, is it easy to remove the pipe connecting the motor to the jets? if you can then take it off and see if you can blow through it, or squeeze along the pipe and feel for any blockages and if you find it give some good sqeezing to break it down
I'm not either. Trust me, its the weather. I drove 80 miles today and they haven't worked the whole journey.

I managed to blow a fuse in my Navara by using the washers in the cold. The pump would run for 5 seconds or so then shut off. Luckily it was covered by warranty.
Halfords pink stuff in mine too, but temp guage was showing -16 this morning, and as low as -19 in the last few days. Not quite so cold where Scott lives but I was still getting -10 there.
And I 'think' the problem is once its frozen in the pipes (which it will easily do coz god knows what temps are like through the night), the temp will need to go up a fair bit for it to thaw.
I've got a spray bottle with screenwash/water mix in it and i just stop every so often and spray the windscreen with it. Does the trick for me lol
well i have used cheap stuff and for the second year reunning my rear washer stopped working got it repaired under warrenty but was told seat will only do this once a year and was recommended vw screen wash so bought it stupily from the stealers £9 for 1.5 litres to say i was shocked is an undestatement. Considering i then went into lidl and that had 5 litres of stuff that should work to -60 for a fiver. I will say thought that you can notice the difference between the vag stuff and cheaper stuff it comes out the bottle like calpol
