I've had my FR TDI for 15 months now and have not been 100% happy with the brakes, when they get hot they fade. I am thinking of doing the 312 conversion.

Today I drove a colleagues Mundano tdci company car (I opted out and bought the FR instead,) and the brakes are complete dog poo!
They are well spongy from cold and very worrying. The car is just past two years old.

I am not trying to start a Ford slagging thread but has anyone else experienced this disturbing difference?

I've gone 312mm, on the standard pads, its a slight improvement, will uprate the pads on next brake change.

I had a Ford before this car, a Focus. The brakes used to fade far too easily, and had a complete loss of braking power twice, both occasions downhill on a national speed road, approaching a junction, luckily they were country lanes with no traffic. Had to stop for 10 mins to let them cool off! They were soon binned in place of Ferodo DS pads etc.
