Yeh best bet would be to have the sensor checked or just replaced and see how things go.

Engine speed sensor? As opposed to the ABS sensor yeah?

Thanks again

Well if you look at the faults:

Engine electronics (01) - is showing a fault with the engine speed sensor (crank)

Abs electronics (03) - is only asking you to check the engine fault memory - not displaying a specific fault with any abs component but relys on a correct signal from the engine speed sensor.

Sorry to bump this again but this fricking issue is still there. I have changed the MAF and the crankshaft speed sensor (G28), and stil intermittently I get the TCS light come on solid and there is marked juddering under acceleration (and minimal ability to accelerate further).

Weirdly, it almost always manifests at the same spot on the commute home - on a downward stretch of the M4, just before I over a river bridge.

A stop/start usually clears it for that journey.

Thanks for any insights.

Take it to a seat dealer mate and they might shed some more light on the affair.

Yeah, loath to go a dealer but maybe helpful. Thanks for the reply.

just let them run a diagnostic check, most you'll pay is for an hours labour.

It turns out to be an issue with No.1 cylinder injector, its causing a misfire, early signs indicate that localised loom change may be required.

Hi,

In the interests of feedback...

...it turned out to be the cylinder injector loom. A fairly cheap fix thank god, a single injector is approx £400.
