OEM Bluetooth > iphone 3g = quiet and rubbish

Ok, i had an ibiza courtosy car and the sound quality of the OEM bluetooth kit was perfect and people can hear me clear etc, got my leon back and its awful, im having to shout and its too quiet... I have turned up the tlvol to the max and the bluetooth volume on phone to the max but still no joy.

Seat looked at the mic yesterday and said its all in good order yet people still cant hear me...

Any ideas? shall i get the unit replaced?
