Yeah if esp did as it was supposed to and only cut in when things get dangerous, however it cuts in far too early and too harshly, instantly cutting power completely instead of progressively... I find that my natural reaction is to counter a skid, and that esp starts doing the same thing, i end up sliding in the wrong direction! Id rather just have full control of the car and have esp in reduced mode so it really does cut in right on the limit when it gets to the point where you may not be able to pull out of the skid purely with steering and acellerator.

i prefer driving with mine off.

it's quicker and more fun. i leave it on when it's wet

Yeah i tend to do that, dont drive too stupid when its wet anyway so doesnt tend to interfere.


Definately better to drive hard with it off tho!

i have this on my lcr 2003 go into corner about 60 to 70 say left hand corner then left cuts in same go into right hand then right cuts in with no brakes on ?

You have just resurrected an old thread but mine does the same!

I've had a look at all components under the car and all seam fine, the lower arms and topmounts have all been re-bushed using powerflex too. However, I only seam to get the ESP flashing & knocking noise when turning right on uneven surfaces at about 50mph+

I think there's something up but for the life of me I can't see what

its your tcs mate its cutting in cus the car is slipping a bit so it will brake for ya turn it of and youll be fine im sure dude i only hav it happen to me when i go fast round an island it dose piss ya off cus untill you put wheels strait it wont go anymore fast lol but when the tcs is off i can hit islands fast and nothink other than the slide lol but i hav full power all the time im turning

thanks funkydan will have ago with tcs off . turned tcs off then yellow engine light come on so need to get it looked at.

had car looked at code 17526 02 sensor heating bank 1 sensor 2 open circuit p 1118 intermittent code 17522 02 sensor bank 1 senor 2 internail resistance too high p1114 intermittent

did you wipe codes then try again dude?and did it bring up same codes?

and if tcs is off do you hav 2 lights on the dash then?with the engine light on to

had codes wiped . just had 1 yellow light on dash. was in traffic stop start 2 hours to do 15 miles when it came on . went into corner today at 40 mph abs came in so turned of tcs and was ok .just have to see if lights stay of thanks for help
