so even if these et40 wheels sit in too much i can still push em out with a spacer if needed, i was worried they would be too far out .. but its all good

Hey, sorry for reviving dead thread.
I have 1.6 TDI 2011. Do all of the things said here still apply? (18-19" ET40+ 8J)
I'm planning to get 225/40/18 ET48 8J . Would they fit?
Thanks!

If anyone's still wondering. Yes, 1.6 TDI facelift has no different chassis than Cupra. Managed to fit 225/40/18 ET48 8J tires and wheels without problem. Rear wheel can be offset even more.

Grip is phenomenal, short sidewall gives quicker steering wheel input. Unfortunately, noise and vibrations and worsen, but I don't mind it. So far so good.

My car came with mk6/7 Golf R Cadiz wheels on and never had any issues, looked rather nice actually just wasn't suitable for where I lived and the roads surrounding, they are 225/40/18 18x8j, like you say the only thing was road noise.
