Sorry guys - I know this topic has been thrashed to death but even reading every page using Search hasn't really told me what I want to know.

I'm doing an N249 bypass in a couple of weeks and it's a good opportunity to replace the broken dipstick guide - been running around for thousands of miles with it bust! Likewise, when mine bust last year I picked it out with a hook, think a couple of little fragments fell in, I had just changed the oil so I wasn't away to do it again, hope the filter got it lol! That reminds me, must do an oil and filter change soon!

Thanks guys - at least I know it's been done successfully without recourse to any special tool! I'll take a look around the garage (or kitchen :D) for likely candidates.

I've only just had an oil and filter change so the N249 job might proceed without the dipstick guide getting replaced at the mo...
