I have put an induction kit on my 1.4 8 valver

im left with the breather pipe apart from churning mayo and spitting oil some times what is the function

is it for emission control i hear that fumes from the crakcase go back in to the combustion chamber and get burnt off (wont that just fill the cumbustion chamber full of carbon deposits )

or is it to relese pressure from the crank case.

ideally im going to put a catch tank collect the oil that spits out but i dont want to reintroduce the breather pipe air back in to the intake. will this fail my MOT or will the fumes eventully knock me out when im driving if left open.

you will feel sick eventually from the smell of steaming oil. its just a way for all steam, unburnt fuel and excess oil to escape from the block.

Speaking of the breather pipe, does anyone know here I can get hold of a one that will hold up better than the OEM??

As mine has sort of collapsed on itself, so running without it on atm.

*sorry for the hijack*

could always make one with some silicon pipe. just have to glue it into the block.
