alright people..

I am thinking of doing an oil and filter change on my 07 fr tfisi

is it as simpl e as any other motor or is there anything i should be aware of?

Thaks chris

Yeah

Remove plastic undertray by unscrewing all screws
Pull tray toward back of car to drop it down
You will need a 32 or 34 mm socket to take off the filter housing and a 17 or 19mm (cant remember sorry) for the sump plug
Remove sump plug, drop oil in to bucket
Slacken Plastic Filter housing using 32 or 34mm key, then unscrew by hand - note the screw top which is something extra to stop it coming off ( you will know what I mean when you see it)
Replace sump plug when oil has finished draining - garages use new ones.
Remove filter from housing
Put new filter in housing
Fill with clean oil
Screw plastic filter housing back in and tighten with 32-34mm socket
Put on screw top
Fill with oil - typically just less than 5 litres as memory serves
Clean underside of engine
Replace plastic undertray
Start car and idle for 5 mins
Leave for 5 mins
Check oil level
Top up if necessary.

Thanks just what i was looking for!

so just as norml really , might give it a go this week.

lets hope everything is fairly easy to get at!!!!

Be careful putting the sump plug back in though because it seems to be easy to damage the threads on the sump pan. They're alloy.

Takes 30 mins tops. I changed the oil in my old car every 3000 miles.
