My Ibiza (TDI Sport 130) definitely had no EGR cooler - you could see the plain bit of pipe from one end to the other.
The Passat definitely hasn't got one either.

Strange
When it got it's turbo upgrade the tuner removed all unnecessary parts of the EGR :

Maybe it is because i have a BLT instead of a ASZ.

yes that's the one the yanks have all the trouble with, when you wonder where your antifreeze is disappearing to
