Right, I've just been under my bonnet checking things and noticed that there's is slight bit of oil sitting on me turbo silencer, i've got a couple of pics which aint the best as i quickly took them with me phone, as you can see there's oil that's coming from where there's a seam, if i wipe it away and take it for a drive and look at it again i see the oil starting to come back........should i be worried?

I've recently noticed exactly the same thing on mine but with quite a bit more oil. The whole lip is pretty much covered on mine. Initially, I thought it was seeping through from the Forge pipe attached to it but as you say, it's coming out of the seam. I don't know the cause or if it's normal or not, so would also appreciate any suggestions.

Exactly what i thought.......it was coming from the silicone pipe that joins the turbo and boost pipe....thats why i bought the forge 1 because i thought it was seaping out the standard pipe.....but i was wrong

Been trying sort these problems with me car out....still notice the oil coming from the silencer on the turbo? if there's oil coming out would that also mean air is escaping aswell? which means im loosing boost? as my car keeps going into limp mode?

i think my turbo is on its way out, oil in most the pipes and some blue smoke after driving it hard :( not good

I'm getting rather concerned about this now.
I've just got to work and checked under the bonnet and I've got lots of oil coming out of where the charge pipe fits the turbo. It's not the seam though as stated above, it's definitely coming out of either end of the Forge connector. I tightened the jubilee clips up as much as possible last night hoping it might be that but it's made no difference. I don't get any smoke coming out of the exhaust though, like Ian's.
How long do you reckon I've got until the turbo calls it a day?
Also, anyone know an approx. labour cost of fitting a replacement turbo?

Its not the turbo, the the oil breather thats connected to the turbo intake pipe, its normal, get a catch tank fitted, that will stop the oil getting into the intake system..

Thanks TurboCupra.

I just find it strange that this has only started happening over the last month or so.

A baffled sump is also a good addition to stop surge.. but a good qulaity oil catch tank will stop this, just flush all the boost pipes through (take them off the car first!)..
