oil leak any advice?

hiya guys ive got this oil leak and ive had it diagnosed as being the front cam shaft carrier seal has gone and needs replacing, the mechanic said its gonna cost £180 to £250 to fix, is this a good price? and are they prone to go? are they hard to fit? ive never heard of these going before? any advice would help.

its not a bad price coz its camshaft out so cambelt off and that, they can go but isnt very common, ive had to do one on my when i bought it afew yrs back

yeah ive read into this and asked a few mechanics now, so, might save up and just do a cam belt change too, whilst its off.

but that should only cost about 10 quid more shouldn;t it? As the belt is that cheap. So for the mechanic it doesn;t matter if he puts on a old or new one, as its off anyway.
