After coming back from holiday and my car having been stood for a week there are a number of oil spots under the car and the felt on the plastic under tray is very soggy, are there any known issues that can cause this, car has done approx 30k, 1.4 Tsi. I've also noticed a knocking sound from the rear like something is loose in the boot, unrelated I know but just looking fir advice on both before taking the stealers

I was literally coming on to search for the same thing!!

This time last year I had a an oil leak which became apparently after the car had been left for a week in the same place. Got it fixed and it was diagnosed as a faulty sump plug.

Fast forward a year to today, Move the car this afternoon after being away for a week again guess what...... Oil patch under the car and the undertray is covered in oil. You can see underneath the tray where the oil has been leaking through one of drain holes.

Looks like i'll be on the phone to the dealer in the morning to get it sorted.

My car is also a 1.4tsi with 35k miles.

Well I hope I won't get charged for any repair given that the same dealer fitted the plug

Do you know if it's one of those new plastic plugs with an o-ring...... Wonder if this is a design fault... Maybe a slightly thicker o-ring is needed.....

I asked if they had ever seen it happen before as it has happened mine twice. They said no but they did say the new sump plug fitted today had a bigger seal on it compared to the old one.

Bingo... That's what I thought.... Shame you didn't actual fit it. As it would've been good to see the old smaller o-ring next to the newer bigger one.

Fingers crossed for you and any others that this sorts your leak out...

Hope so, all sorted free of charge at least as there was no way I was paying! My car was only serviced in Feb.

I don't intend paying either given that they fitted the plug last year and all parts are supposed to be guaranteed

First time i'd heard of plastic sump plugs on the Leon! Makes me shudder a bit if I'm honest!

ECP only comes up with a metal magnetic plug, does anyone know where can you get OEM ones other than the dealer?

Glad it got sorted with new plug...
Don't suppose you have the break down from your service showing the part number of the new style sump plug...
