Hi all,

Got in my car this morning to come to work and the oil temp light flashed red and beeped at me three times.

i believe this is low coolant level, i checked the level and even though it was low it was not below the minimum.
i decided not to risk it and took my other car to work.

as i dont have a seat dealer near me i was just wondering if anyone knows what coolant i can get from halfords so i go out on dinner break and pick some up.

my car is a 03 lcr by the way.

cheers.

How can an oil temp flash and be a coolant level?

If you mean the red light in the temperature gauge then yes either coolant is low, or the prongs inside the header tank need a scrape.
If you need coolant you need G12 dark blue bottle iirc, check on the rear it's for Seats.

Halfords also do a G12+ (pink) equivalent, some cars use that. Don't mix what you have though, if you're not sure then I believe it's safer to just top up with a little water, as mixing different coolants could result in the whole lot turning to gel as it reacts.

Ah i see. mine coolant is pink, but i think the safest option will be to add water.
my car is going in for a little bit of work on Wednesday, and as they did the service i will have them to have a look at it.
