I haven't got a temp gauge myself, but it sound about right, especially with a turbo. Bearing in mind when your coolant is up to temp (90•C), that is under pressure so actual temp of your coolant is around/above 100.

The Auq engine has an oil plate cooler / warmer . Its a sandwich type mounted ontop of the oil filter with engine coolant piped through it . Its purpose is to warm the oil up fast to working temp and keep it some where near the engine coolant temp on a run . Thus 100c is about as cool as your gonna get it on a good run . Some LCR s have a proper oil cooler which are air cooled and thus the oil runs cooler temps than the Auq equiped 180 LC

If you run a lower temp rated thermostat and you have the sandwich plate oil cooler described above your oil temp will run correspondingly lower also . However this will result in oil deterioration due to build up of condensation in the sump ( salad cream syndrome ) 100 degrees is needed to eliminate water vapour from the oil . It is fine to do this as long as you change the oil every 5000 miles max before it goes to salad cream

Mine goes between 90-100 but had it over 130 on the track so backed off
There is a handy spare port on top of the filter housing for fitting
