Oil Temperature

Would there be any reason why the Oil Temperature reading shoots up to 90 reasonably quick ?

It just seems to get up there right and quick compared to couple months ago.

There isnt any problems performace wise, however there is a distinctive smell when exiting the car


Any help would be great

it could be your coolent sensor thats going or gone

You sure its oil temp? not coolant temp?

temp sensor. its faulty and not picing up heat properly. only working past a cert degree. change it mate. will cost about £20
