Oil...What to use in your TDI

Hi

Can anybody tell me if the following are OK for my engine? 1.9 TDi 150 (2004);

Castrol Engine Oil (Edge Fully Synthetic 5W30)
Valvoline Engine Oil (Durablend Diesel Semi-Synthetic 5W40)
Carlube Engine Oil (Triple R 5W40Fully Synthetic Diesel Engine Oil

Just a quick question but would Mobil Super 2000 semi synth oil bet ok in my 2003 Leon PD130? Had a look and it is listing as a 10/40 and 505.01 but i don't know if i should just go for a 507 oil?

The Super 2000 isn't a 505.01 oil, it's a 501.01. Don't go for that, go for a 505.01 or 507.00 oil instead.

My car had a longlife service 10k ago. Im now wanting to change the oil as I dont want the same oil in there for 20k and go back to yearly / 10k services (the vw/audi garage I used only did longlife services)

I used castrol edge turbo diesel 5w40 before for topping up and want to confirm this is correct before I buy more for the oil change or is there any better reccomendations? Car is an 07 Ibiza FR PD130 and its remapped and going for stage 2 soon and want the best oil

No it hasnt got a DPF

The Edge TD 5w-40 is fine if you haven't got a DPF, but if you want the best, go for an ester based 5w-40, like the Fuchs Pro S, Millers CFS, Redline, Gulf Competition or Motul 300V.

I think il stick with using longlife oil and changing at 10k intervals, longlife oil is 5w 40 am I right? Is dealer spec oil ok or is there better out there?

Dealership oils are okay, but they only meet the spec. Other manufacturer ones tend to exceed one manufacturers specifications as they are usually designed to meet the requirements of lot of specifications.
