personally you got to look at the EVo too.

A mate of mine has just part ex'd his 3yr owned LCR for an FQ300 EVO 8

looks nice, scary think is at 18000 miles it has had 5 services already.

i work for mitsubishi and know how bad they are we have a fq340 in the workshop that has smashed its flywheel and not covered on warranty very expensive and parts are on back order so he will not have a car for a bit.

i would have thought quite a few.

I know my old 230bhp Ibiza embarassed quite a few. And i do remember a few being embarassaed in gear by the TDi too. so i would imagine a revo'd Leon would easily ruin a WRX, maybe not off the mark, but in gear, for sure

Scoobies are nice when Mcarae is hammering them round some dirt track in wales at over a ton, but on the road they are getting very common among Chavs. Sorry.
It started as Novas. Then Corsa's. Now Scoobies.
Shame really as the baseball cap wearing idiots bring the car down in image and probably value.
Oh yeah, i should add that i have left one or two (older model) scoobies in my TDI, So they aren't that amazing.

So what is the frequency and servicing costs of a WRX PPP?

I never get to drive above 80mph. The Motorways around here are too damn busy so the twisty B-roads are the only place i can hammer down.

Come one guys - Honestly - How many of you LCR owners have seen off a Subaru??

Rolling start against a Scooby STi PPP yes it was a PPP between 40mph and 1** and there was nothing in it whenever I tried.

Usually whoever got on the power first held the slight advantage

Round bends and off the line I never tried for obvious reasons[B)]

Some interesting comments :)

My final thoughts on the change from the LCR to the Scooby.

1. Scooby is very common - and a lot of prats put racing graphics on them, then they look really pants.

2. A lot of prople have joked with me and said its a bit chav (which I am not by the way). Others have said it's a bit boy racer - well I am in my 40s :D

3. Performance wise - I just love it compared to the LCR (which was not mapped).

4. Ride wise the scoob is so much nicer, my wife hated the bumpy ride of the Leon.

5. Insurance is group 20, compared to 17 for the leon, but I am not really paying any more cash out - change to Admiral from RAC.

6. Tyres - I can get two good ones for the scoob, for the price of one for an LCR.

7. Petrol consumption - was not that good with the LCR, worse with the scoob, plus I must now use Super unleaded.

8. The LCR 225 was a smashing car, but I love the scooby so much more!

9. Gear changes are so much nicer than the scooby, and I don't miss the 6 speed box either.

10. Do not miss seeing that ESP light flashing!

The impreza feels quicker than what it actually is and there is 1 reason for this...

Because it gets full traction in 1st gear.

1st gear as we know is the hardest pull of any gear, if you can get the full power down, the pull (throwback in the seat) is immense.

If you have never been in a 4wd car under full acceleration in 1st it really is something else:D

It feels a lot faster (in 1st and 2nd) compared with an LCR but only because the scooby has 100% traction and a remapped LCR may only have 60-70% traction. (You need to be gentle and part throttle otherwise the wheels will just spin)

My last car was a scooby and in 1st and 2nd yes it was awesome but 3rd upwards my LCR would have eaten it:)

It takes a newage Sti PPP to stay similar moving pace with a chipped LCR. LCR does pull away from ordinary 265bhp Sti.

When in PPP mode, they are around 305bhp but giving 4wd losses they are roughly the same if not a little less than a chpped LCR @ wheels.

Enjoy the car though buddy, i would much rather have 4wd this time of year:) ;)

I pulled up behind an STi not too long ago, obviously modded as I could hear and see his huge exhaust and BOV going off, an 03 plate I think, when the traffic cleared he floored it doing around 70 - I overtook him and pulled away easily up to around 120. I currently have around 290bhp and 310lbft.

As has been said, off the line forget it as traction is king, but from a roll they are quite doable!
