One problem with my Leon...

Keeps getting better and better as i keep finding out new things about it, but there is one problem... THE HORN!!!

It's not even a HONK, it's a TOOT! Kids come running out of their houses to look as they think Noddy is coming down their road...

Anyone else had this? And are there any adjustments that can be made? I don't want to have to wait 12 years for it to hit puberty.

:embarrassed:

Mine's the same... It sounds like it's the only gay horn in the village :D

I was saying the exact same thing to my mate the other week!!

There was a thread on here about good and bad points of the new leon and I meant to reply to it, saying the bad points include a gay horn!

If anyone knows of a way to make it sound more 'manly' let us know!

Well, what other guys think is gay, is huge to others, and normal to some... :D
Maybe it's only a point of view, or something.

Generally the hi spec cars come with a twin tone horn. One low one hi, that sound at the same time (Meaty)

The lower spec ones and sometimes newer hi spec ones (when they get skint) come with only the hi one, which sounds really camp! toot toot!

Well you might think, 'just bolt on the low one'. Unfortunatly with the new leon its not necessarily that easy. The control unit that manages the horn and lights etc, moniters current draw to detect faults!

So if you havn't guessed already two horns draw more current than one, so the control unit may throw a wobbly and shut down the circuit!

But from memory there is a possibility of re-coding the control unit to accept a 'twin note' horn. Or the other possibility is to get the low tone horn and use that one only. (much easier)

Mine sounds fine. Used it against some two w*n*ers who pulled out across my path on a dual-carriageway yesterday.

"gay" horn. I've heard worst - have you heard the horn on the mark 1 Renault Megane? Now that is "gay".

My sport one sounds good too, I've only used it once but it sounded good. I tried to use it several times before then but kept hitting where the horn use to be on my old car and nothing happened :D
