As the title says really. Picked the car up last tuesday. Fitted a forge dump valve on thursday and am getting it chipped this afternoon. Im not going revo or anything like thatas i know someone in the business. They have done LCR's before with great results 50bhp and 70nm of torque. this is there website

Here is a little bit of blurb from their website.

Anyway, really cant wait for this to be done, so after 4pm look out for a flying black LCR :D

Sounds good mate...

Looking to start on mine soon!! let me know how it goes and what it drives like after.. looking for more of a custom remap as apposed to this revo that everyone goes for. Doin in that way only gives everyone the same pwoer through the gears and same accleration.

want something that little bit more personal!!

le me know;)

Well guys its done, now how can i describe how it feels without a swear filter blocking every other word ;)

First he downloaded the original ECU. Sent it to his programmer. In turn he then processed all the info (apparently there is approx 9 ECU's for this engine). Made a program. Sent it back via mail and we then downloaded it into the ECU. The programmer said it was going to be awesome and he was not wrong!

I will only be using 40-50% of the full upgrade and it will be 100% after 100miles of driving. I cant believe how much more power there is. Pick up is improved, torque is just crazy and sheer power is just bonkers.

Big thanks to Chip Zone!!! This is a cracking setup with some of the best software CHEERS!!

I've been told mine has been chipped up another 60bhp, giving me 285bhp. It is quite aggressive on pick up and power delivery is more like a subaru

What exactly are you having done then?

TBH any of the stage 1 remaps (from any tuner) are unlikely to be more than 265bhp ish......unless it's running dangerously high levels of boost

erm not sure mate to be honest - just throwing it out there for suggestions. Want more power. New to the game of perfomance upgrading, inspired by a good freind of mine..

Well this chip zone sounds good - im prolly gonna go for the free trial from REVO at some point..

Do Chip Zone offer the same trial service?

Basically you won;t break 300bhp in an LCR as the K04 turbo is maxxed out before that*.

Most places do a stage 1 and stage 2 remap on the original K04 turbo.

Stage 1 on an LCR 265bhp (Just a remap)

Stage 2 on an LCR 275bhp (Remap, exhaust, induction kit, 4-bar FPr)

These figures are approx but to get above 275bhp you need a bigger Intercooler and all the above and you'll still struggle to get over 280bhp.

Whichever remapper you choose the above is true....and remember the turbo is near the max of what it can do.

I got 272bhp and 315lbsft on a rolling road from just a remap in my car.....in reality this is high......some rolling roads are 'Optimistic' ;)

If you change the turbo ususally refered to as stage 3 or big turbo then you'll need £5-£8k to spend to do it properly and you can get 360bhp on std internals with your fingers crossed.

* - Excludes NOS which is a cheap and effective way of breaking 300bhp with a remap and 50bhp jets (See Mitchy on these forums who is running NOS)

ok, much clearer picture now.

My first step initially is increase power to something around 250bhp. The stage 1 re-map I think is the obvious option.

With the remap i'll probably get myself a dump-valve - I hear GFB (go fast bits) is reputable? any recommendations?

Where was your re-map done?

Stage 1 and 265bhp average for most tuners, mine was Revo but plenty of options out there.

Some say APr is very smooth, I've driven a stage 2 APr and it felt good

Got my diesel A3 done by Forge and that was very good too

Who are GFB??
I had two dump valves, first was a Bailey DV cost me nearly £100 and lasted 20k Miles then it was fcuked so I threw it away.

Bought a Forge DV which is fully servicable and has a Lifetime Warranty for about £85 and never looked back, quality piece of kit

Most of my money after the remap and DV was spent on the suspension and it turned the LCR into a different animal.....better ride on some respects, cornered flat, gripped harder, turned in better, certainly surprised a few people ;)

yeh think the REVO re-map is the way forward. Huge number of people on here saying good things about 'em, im gonna check em out next weekend - have a free trial if I can.. ;)

Need some better tyres as-well? hmm trying to decide what to do first..

Cheers mate I'll look into this Forge DV - cant go a miss with lifetime warranty.

GFB (go fast bits) there was a link to em when I first visited cupra.net. a mate used them for his DV. cost him £100 - looks awesome not sure on the warranty though, gonna ask him..
