Recently just bought an onvi yellow leon with the usual paint fade. After reading loads of stuff on forums about it been the paint faded under the laquer and can only result in been repainted I decided to try for myself to see if icould do any thing with it before I send it for paint.
After noticing a little piece of laquer peel, I noticed the patch with no laquer was yellow so I got some wet and dry and flatted the paint work back. And hey presto nice deep yellow appears underneath, I polished up the patch that I flatted and it's back to normal.
It's gonna take some time to do all the faded bits but will be worth it in then end and saving money.
I figured that if I knackered up the paint it wouldn't really matter as I would of just got it painted.
So it's actually the laquer that has failed and gone cloudy causing the faded paint.
