I accidentally opened the coolant reservoir (grabbed the wrong bit in the dark) after my car was hot and the fluid level jumped up a little bit with a bit of a rush of air. Does this mean my systems got air in it now?
no your ok.
when liquids heat up they expand, (as does air) Liquids however dont compress well at all but air does. SO the air in the expansion tank will have been under pressure, which was released when you took the top off.
Just let it cool down, and pop the top back on. or if its on you could remove it and replace again once its cooled.
Its also a self bleed system, so even if you emptied theentire system it should self bleed when its refilled.
