Where is the outside temperature sensor on my 06 Ibiza? Can't find it anywhere. some have said in the wing mirror and you have to undo a torque screw to get to it but my wing mirrors have no screws in the casing.

Also would it have any affect on my AC? AC doesn't seem to work, can't find a way to test if my front radiator fan works as I never hear it turn on but car never overheats and as AC won't work I cant use AC to turn it on :p

EDIT: I believe it is not working as the dashboard just shows --.-c

Probably not much use but on both the Mk2 & Mk3 Leon's we've had its been just behind the lower front grille on the passenger side.
It does affect the air con , ours went haywire and said it was 40℃ outside ( in Brum, in February, I don't think so....) so the air con would only blow cold air......

My air con doesn't even get cold. I did notice on the passenger side grille near where a fog light would be there is a circular bracket.. guess the sensor belongs there haha

I don't think the outside temperature sensor has much to do with the aircon does it?

Have you got VCDS on the car and seen if any fault codes come up with the AC??

If you have a climate control system a malfunctioning sensor will effect it, my girlfriends father has one saying -30 all the time so the coldest it will go is 18 inside and it could be 20+ outside, as for location the front bumper makes the most sense. If you have no cold air from the ac maybe you need your system serviced and regassed

+1 for behind the lower front grill area, the mirror was where it was on the 6K Ibiza.

And +1 for it possibly affecting the AC as the chiller function gets inhibited below about +3C - so if it displayed lower than that, and ----C is probably below that.

Replaced the sensor. It turns out it should have been front bumper next to passenger side fog light fitting. It appears after looking behind the grill that the previous owner has crashed the car, smashed the passenger side fog-light to pieces so took both out (as the fitting is smashed up on passenger side and snapped on drivers) and they cut the wires for the sensor (so no plug) and taped it in the wiring loom. All fun and games trying to get these 2 tiny wires and re-wire it. Also believe I do need my Air-con re-gassing as it is still not cold.
