Mines costing about £1050 in total thats for the IE Rods, new piston rings, bearings, gaskets, oil, oil filter etc.... Labour is £350 of the total which I think is fair price, if I remember think Danny paid £300 but that was mates rates

ok, thats not TOO bad. not good!! n would be better if i hadnt cocked up in 1st place. was worried be like 3k or summat wulda jst written car off and forgotten it. lol
 
You could probably do it cheaper if you dont do Rings etc but while its all apart I thought it was worth it as I'll be having my Hybrid mapped soon so will be going over the current torque i have - probably why it bent in the first place

arent rods the only real major weak point of the 1.8 t anyways?, i know bam and auq variants come with forged pistons as standard, but not rods

Yeah my Labour was £300 my parts were new bearings,new rods,new headgasket,new headbolts,new timing belt kit and AUX belt,New Water pump and i changed the oilpump and sump retainer while i was at it...

around 500 in parts...irrc with uprated rods..

get in touch with BDM and ask for steve or alex they can sort you out...they've done it a few times in the past awesome service too.
